Basically ceiling canopy represents an ideal solution in open space offices of a bigger scale and high number of occupants, where room acoustics can be addressed generally as well as locally ( individually).
Without a proper acoustical solution noise travels uncontrolled and in such an environment becomes very annoying for other room co occupants which results in concentration and work efficiency. Subconscious listening of workmate's phone discussions is simply stealing our time and concentration.
In such room scenarios it is vitally important to reduce general noise level and sound distribution, by localising sound at its source.

What works in open offices can be counterproductive in classrooms, auditoriums or other spaces where intelligibility is the goal.
Sound-absorbing materials produce dead spaces and a monotonous and tuned out acoustical environment. When a classroom is not designed properly applying materials with a too high sound absorption at an inappropriate location, voice of the presenter is faded so strongly, that sound reaching listeners in rear rows is heavily weakened and not understandable.
A diffusive ceiling might be more appropriate in these settings. A diffusive ceiling scatters sound instead of soaking it up. The voice tends to envelop the space more powerfully, increasing the listener’s understanding plus enjoyment.
The key is to recognize that effective noise control is only achieved when the designer follows a multipronged approach
Not to mention how intensive total noise can be in school corridors and public common spaces, where we recommend the use of canopies with both sided perforation and by that maximum sound absorption.

Entry hotel halls with its higher ceiling height and consequently higher air volume typically have longer sound reverberation time. This volume is luckily giving us wider multilevel design opportunities. By applying ceiling canopies in this kind of space we control sound without visual closure and limitation.

Customer well being is of vital importance in all kinds of retail shops where as an addition to shop design, illumination, merchandise offer etc. acoustical comfort plays the main role as an invisible attribute.
In shop renovation processes canopies can easily integrate into basic layout and position of shop furniture.
RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS
Well being in the home environment is becoming increasingly important in today's fast pace and modern lifestyle. Space acoustics where the least considered area in residential design. Recent design trends of minimalistic clear and straight shapes, smooth surfaces and textile withdrawal are intensiving this problem in the Home environment.For better understanding we can make a comparison between the dining room, where we spend entertaining evenings' with our family and friends and the meeting room in our office, where a similar number of people are having a meeting on a much lower sound level and intensity.
